Walmart Rapid Reload uses the Green Dot Network to provide cardholders with a way to load funds to their cards by swiping their cards at any register at participating Walmart stores (not available in Vermont or Wyoming). Cardholders can add funds to their prepaid account by using cash or a pre-printed payroll or government cheque. Cashier-added funds are set to be available for use by MasterCard rePower-enabled cardholders within minutes.
The MasterCard rePower network is open to any MasterCard issuer of reloadable prepaid card programs. Portfolios such as the Univision MasterCard Prepaid Card are set to be able to provide their cardholders with the cash reload option through Walmart Rapid Reload.
Green Dot is a publicly traded bank holding company which provides banking and payment services to US consumers. Green Dots products and services include its General Purpose Reloadable (GPR) prepaid cards and its cash transfer network which are available to consumers online and through a network of approximately retail stores across the US.
