Indala Builds Next-Generation Credentials for Microsoft Employees

Tuesday 12 April 2005 09:59 CET | News

Indala has developed multi-technology, multi-application credentials for Microsoft employees, which enabled network (logical) as well as building (physical) access control. The project specified a new 128KB smart card module combined with a .NET operating system for smartcards, and incorporated FlexEnterprise RFID technology.

The new Indala credential is an upgrade of the legacy Indala smartcard. Further, the new card is compatible with existing systems, so there will be no disruption of service for the user. Microsoft credential deployment takes place via decentralized identity offices. To issue a card, both local ID verification and centralized certificate authorization must be approved. Identity officers are able to program both the physical and logical access rights to the Indala card, providing the user a single, secure credential for the workplace.
