Axalto and Telespree Communications have teamed up to deliver Telesprees self-service wireless automation software on Axaltos Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards. The initiative targets wireless network operators and value-added mobile services providers in North America.Under the agreement, Axalto will add Telesprees Self-Service Set-Up applet to its Customer SIM Card Library, making the software part of Axaltos standard portfolio of products and services. Implementing the self-service solution as a SIM toolkit application means that it is now available for all GSM devices. The companies will work together to ensure that the Telespree applet will work with future Axalto SIM Cards. Both organizations will promote the solution, and Axalto will distribute and support the application to customers who license it. Self-Service Set-Up is a highly automated wireless industry network solution jointly developed by Telespree and VeriSign, Inc., the leading provider of critical infrastructure services for the Internet and telecommunications networks. Self-Service Set-Up intuitively guides consumers through an interactive process that manages wireless device activation or reactivation, customer account set-up, ongoing account maintenance, rate plan changes and promotions using only the mobile device itself without the aid of a sales clerk or call center. Self-Service Set-Up, a network based solution, allows wireless carriers to dynamically manage and modify applications, offerings and promotions for their customers. The platform consists of server elements that reside in the carriers network and the Secure Instant Wireless Access (SIWA) micro-client that resides as a SIM toolkit application on the wireless device. The new Self-Service Set-Up capability expands Axalto’s broad range of solutions for the wireless industry. Other Axalto products include OASYS, a system that provides wireless operators with a portal to the Internet, and Aremis, a means of enabling over-the-air account activation and application management for mobile devices in GSM networks.
