With this step, the company aims to be able to offer unified commerce, as stated in the announcement. This partnership offers Unzer the possibility to combine ecommerce and bricks-and-mortar retail through additions such as an acquiring license, payment solutions for ecommerce, and POS terminal technology. As early as 2020, Unzer, formerly Heidelpay, invested in Tillhub and acquired 25% of the company.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the current purchase price. Unzer offers users free plug-ins for ecommerce platforms, while Tillhub offers a cloud-based POS system that works via the iPad. Furthermore, traders can create reports for tax offices via the software. The takeover is the continuation of a series of acquisitions by Unzer. With the financial investor KKR, the payment provider Unzer has already bought numerous companies in order to further expand its ecosystem around the topic of payments. Many retailers, including Klier, Mister Spex, and Fleurop, already rely on Tillhub solutions.
