Global software and technology services company SunGard has added new features to its web-based business continuity planning tool PLANet to enable community banks and credit unions to build their business plans according to financial industry regulations and best practices.

SunGard’s PLANet is set to provide financial organizations with upgraded capabilities including vendor management risk which enables companies to manage business partners in the vendor supply chain lifecycle, as well as risk assessment which now provides notes of mitigation strategies that have been implemented. It also offers new reporting features which allow organizations to perform sorting to determine which activities are more likely to happen and determine the potential impact of the risk. The reporting capability is set to address regulatory audits and sort data. Additionally, PLANet includes new reports to the Testing and Business Impact Analysis capabilities.

PLANet is part of the SunGard availability services which provide disaster recovery services, managed IT services, information availability consulting services and business continuity management software to 10,000 customers in North America and Europe.
