FirstEnergy offers e-bill payment services through financial institutions

US-based energy company FirstEnergy has made available an electronic bill payment service through banks and financial institutions.

Powered by Fiserv, the new electronic billing service, is expected to enable customers to view and pay their monthly electric bills through their online banking accounts at more than 3,100 participating financial institutions. When signing up for the electronic billing service, customers have the option to receive both electronic and paper bills for three months. After this period, they can choose to continue electronic billing only or revert back to paper billing. The new electronic billing service also includes due-date reminder alerts and automatic payment options.

FirstEnergy operates through seven electric utility subsidiaries, namely, Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company, Toledo Edison, Pennsylvania Electric, Pennsylvania Power, Metropolitan Edison and Jersey Central Power & Light.
