Relay Payments partners with Maverik

Fintech company Relay Payments has partnered with Maverik to provide fleets and commercial truck drivers with an improved experience when paying for fuel.

Through this collaboration, Relay Payments offers a completely digital fuel purchasing experience for drivers who pay directly at Maverik pumps. Additionally, drivers receive significant fuel discounts, while prices and route planning options are listed in Relay’s mobile app.

Relay Payments – Maverik partnership objectives and capabilities

By working together, Relay Payment and Maverik intend to provide drivers with modern, efficient, and reliable diesel fuel payment experiences, as well as access to Maverik’s stores, which offer food, clean stops, and improved service. According to Relay’s officials, the company continues to expand its diesel fuel solution by providing digital payments to more truck stops and convenience stores throughout the US. The collaboration with Maverik allows Relay to offer its drivers additional options to pay at the pump regardless of their route. Moreover, fleets can leverage Relay’s negotiated discount or retain any pre-negotiated discounts they established with Maverik. Drivers also receive Relay’s contactless technology, route planning, controls, transparent fees, and access to the company’s US-based customer support services.

Furthermore, representatives from Maverik underlined their company’s commitment to providing enhanced experiences to customers and the partnership with Relay supports this objective by allowing current commercial customers to use the latter’s digital product. As a mutually beneficial collaboration, the alliance also invites Relay’s driver network to leverage Maverik’s 400 locations across 12 western states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Relay launched its digital payment solution in 2019 to remove long delays drivers faced by drivers for payment approvals and authorisations at warehouses.  By introducing this service, the company aimed to provide fleets with increased hours of service and efficiency throughout the supply chain. According to company information, its payment network continues to expand as it enables fleets nationwide to make simplified over-the-road payments. Currently, Relay’s solution is leveraged by more than 350,000 drivers, 90,000 carriers, and 1,5000 truck stops. In addition to its partnership with Maverik, the company works with J.B. Hunt, the Pilot Company, AMBEST, Coyote Logistics, and Lineage Logistics, among others.

Prior to this collaboration, Relay Payments partnered with Yesway to provide its cardless purchasing experience to more than 100 Yesway and Allsup locations. This allowed more fleets and drivers to avoid fuel fraud caused by card skimming. By integrating Yesway into Relay’s network, drivers received a more secure and convenient diesel fuel payment experience across the country.
