Intuit makes geolocation sales tax feature available for GoPayment credit card reader

Tuesday 29 May 2012 10:01 CET | News

US provider of business and financial management services Intuit has added a geolocation sales tax feature to its GoPayment mobile phone app and credit card reader.

The geolocation sales tax feature allows small businesses to get paid by calculating taxes based on the location of a sale, taking into account the city, state and municipal tax codes, as well as special tax districts.

The new GoPayment card reader is a compact, cylinder-shaped device that fits into the audio jack of a mobile phone or tablet. It works with the GoPayment app to allow users to swipe a credit or debit card instead of entering the data manually.

In recent news, Intuit has completed the acquisition of US-based mobile payments start-up AisleBuyer. The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
