US provider of wireless transactions and information messaging services developer Apriva has teamed up with North America-based credit card processor EVO Merchant Services to introduce a mobile payment service.

The newly-launched application, dubbed EVO Mobile Pay, is based on the AprivaPay mobile payment software. The m-payment app is set to allow merchants to carry out credit card transactions from any location using their mobile devices.

The app is currently available for the iPhone versions 3G, 3GS and 4, as well as for browser-based mobile phones. As part of future developments, EVO is planning to make the mobile app available for Android-powered devices.

Apriva offers wireless payment technologies for financial services providers, including banks, merchant acquirers, credit card processors and independent sales organizations (ISOs). Via its two operating groups, Apriva Point of Sale (POS) and Apriva Information Security Systems (ISS), the company offers customers security services that integrate hardware, software, network infrastructure and management tools.
