Swedish SEB Kort partners with Cekab for card services

North European financial group Sebs subsidiary SEB Kort has selected IT group EDBs division Cekab for the supply of card services in Sweden. Under the terms of the agreement, Cekab is to manage the processing of all card transactions via payment terminals accessed by SEB customers in Sweden. The deal is part of an existing contract, which has been signed for two years with a value of SEK 20 million (EUR 2.14 million).

SEB Kort has companies in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway and it operates through the MasterCard, Visa and Diners Club networks. In 2007, SEB Kort had issued 3.2 million cards to its customers in the Nordic countries. Transaction volumes reached SEK 237 billion ( EUR 25.36 billion) at the end of the same year. Cekab processed around 1.3 billion transactions in 2007.
