UK-based mobile payments services provider Swish Payments has launched a mobile point of sale (mPOS) service in Hong Kong, enabling businesses to accept credit card payments while on the go.

With the new mobile payment technology merchants are set to be able to use their smartphones to process credit card payments. The Swish card reader has the capacity to read both magnetic stripe and chip cards and will initially be available on iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch mobile devices.

The company will deploy a controlled roll-out into Hong Kong in partnership with financial institution Dah Sing Bank in early 2013.
