The Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank) has reached a cooperation agreement with its Lao counterpart, BCEL, on international credit card payment in Kip (Lao currency).

Vietcombank will put its first automatic teller machines (ATM) into operation in Laos, allowing the holders of international credit cards and international debit cards to withdraw cash in Kip using Vietcombanks credit card payment system. Vietcombank and BCEL are discussing a plan to connect future ATMs in Laos with Vietcombanks credit card payment system so that they can handle the Connect 24 cards issued by Vietcombank. Vietcombank has become the first Vietnamese bank to successfully carry out its credit card payment system connection in other countries. It has also made great effort in expanding its credit card payment service throughout the country.
