UP launches ecommerce gateway services

To maintain its position in the market, UP needed to migrate its existing payment gateway to a solution that would enable it to achieve the 3DS2.2 certification in a short time frame and provide enhanced payment experiences. The company selected the payment gateway from Compass Plus Technologies due to its mobile-first approach to accepting payments online.

The new payment gateway aims to enable UP to offer a secure omnichannel payment journey and adapt to changing consumer preferences. The project was completed in under three months, marking a successful migration of UP’s payment gateway. By maintaining their partnership, both Compass Plus Technologies and UP want to drive innovation in the African payments industry, with plans to continue working on projects in the future.

The payment gateway solution offered by Compass Plus Technologies covers the entire online payment lifecycles by supporting both consumer and merchant-initiated transactions. MobiCash Payment Gateway is developed for all online transactions, including web, in-app, subscription-based, card-on-file, BNPL, pay-by-link, and quasi-cash. The solution also supports DCC for international cardholders, providing them with flexibility when making payments.

MobiCash can be easily integrated with a host of other systems, including acquiring and fraud, CMS, and shopping carts, as well as enable companies to support a limitless number of payment methods. Currently, the payment gateway supports major international payment networks, such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and UnionPay, and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Alipay. Moreover, the solution comes natively integrated with the company’s mobile payments service, MobiCash Payments, and its configuration capabilities including merchant hierarchies and inheritance functions.
