Unzer’s POS Go is targeting small and medium-sized businesses that want to accept mobile payments, with company representatives having stated that they aim to help merchants transition from cash to card payments. POS Go is not limited only to a mobile till system, as the software behind it provides merchants with capabilities ranging from customer engagement programmes to real-time sales data, simplifying their day-to-day tasks.
As Germany has approximately one million POS systems, with only a fraction of those being mobile, Unzer aims to provide with POS Go a solution to retailers and service providers that want to digitalise their processes and meet the demand for contactless payment. A combination of a POS system, card reader, receipt printer, and scanner, the device can be used anywhere due to its cloud-based software and makes possible the offer of payment methods such as Buy Now, Pay Later directly as the point of sale.
A study by the EHI Retail Institute states that one of the top priorities at the point of sale is the use of mobile devices with checkout functions, with 55% of survey respondents having stated that they want to invest in mobile checkouts.
Some of the functions that come with POS Go are the ability to digitally store receipts and have them printed in compliance with tax regulations, as well as easy integration of new and existing discount and loyalty programmes. Merchants have the options of viewing their sales figures at any time and exporting all payment transactions for the annual financial statement in DATEV format via an Android app. The dashboards present stock levels, orders, and customer payment preferences in a clear manner, simplifying the way in which merchants manage their staff and goods.
Merchants are also enabled to create an online shop, and have it linked to POS Go, giving them the option of having transactions run on the same system, no matter whether they sell online, mobile, or offline. Through the connected online shop, businesses can interact with a variety of marketplaces such as Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, and Google Shopping and offer their products without having to update other systems, as no separate software or administrative work is required.
POS GO is legally compliant with all regulations, including the Kassensicherungsverordnung (Cash Register Anti-Tampering Ordinance), the GoBD, and new cash register laws, featuring tamper-proof technical security equipment (TSE) available as a cloud solution that is regularly updated to stay compliant. Additionally, the printed receipts contain all the information that is required in accordance with the German fiscal law.
The POS Go mini-POS system is ready for immediate use, merchants being able to accept payment anywhere thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity and a 4G SIM card, the data being automatically synchronised.
