Paying Electricity Bill Online Becoming Popular with Customers

Georgia Powers service offering the ability to receive and pay utility bills online through its Internet site is gaining popularity among its customers.More than 100,000 Georgia Power customers have signed up for e-Bill, an online bill delivery and payment system that gives customers another option in choosing how they would like to manage their energy payments. The e-Bill program began in March 2001. By the end of the year, Georgia Power had more than 40,000 customers using e-Bill. Today, with more than 100,000 customers signed up to pay their electricity bill online, the program continues to grow. Customers using e-Bill receive, view and pay their energy bills through the companys Website at www.georgiapower.com . Customers also have the option to view and pay their Georgia Power bills through up to 300 CheckFree-supported bill payment Websites, including Yahoo!, USPS.com and BankofAmerica.com. Enrolling in e-Bill requires the customers account number and account access code from the paper bill, an e-mail address, and checking account information. Once enrolled, customers receive an e-mail notification when a new e-Bill is ready, eliminating the need for mailing paper bills.
