Netherlands-based payment service provider Mollie has announced raising EUR 665 million in a Series C financing round resulting in a valuation of EUR 5.4 billion.

The round was led by Blackstone Growth, investment management company Blackstone's growth equity investment arm, and included EQT Growth, General Atlantic, HMI Capital and Alkeon Capital. Growth equity firm TCV, which led the Series B investment in September 2020, also participated in the funding round.

The financing will be used for international expansion, team expansion and ongoing investments in product and technology. Mollie aims to continue investing in its technology platform and expanding its product portfolio from payments to financial services for SMEs. The payment service provider is also exploring the possibility of further expanding in other countries, both within Europe and beyond.
