Identix has won a state-wide live scan award from the County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC) to provide Identix line of TouchPrint 3000 live scan booking stations.

The CSOC received a grant from the Department of Homeland Security for the purchase and deployment of ten-print live scan systems to Sheriffs Offices throughout the State. A Request For Proposal (RFP) was issued by CSOC in September 2003 and proposals from a number of live scan providers were submitted the same month. The CSOC Board of Directors voted unanimously to award Identix a contract to provide a total of 44 TouchPrint 3000 and TouchPrint 3800 booking stations. With the addition of these systems, Identix will have an installed base of more than 150 live scan system in Colorado, including deployment throughout the state with the INS, Army, Air Force, Police Departments, Schools and Sheriff Departments. Identix expects to begin shipping systems under the contract in December 2003. Identix TouchPrint 3000 Series fingerprint optical scanner is the only ten-print scanner that is totally sealed, with no moving parts and using a single large, non-coated platen. It is designed for enhanced image quality as well as improved reliability, which leads to higher throughput and lower total cost of ownership, values that end users appreciate. Revolutionary optical and lighting schemes -- Moisture Discriminating Optics (patented), Dual Beam Illumination (patent pending) and Clear Trace Imaging (patent pending) -- enable the TouchPrint 3000 Series live scan systems to ignore moisture, dirt, residue and latent prints left behind on the platen, helping to lower AFIS rejection rates, maximize throughput and dramatically enhance AFIS performance. The TouchPrint 3000 Series also provides customers the option of the first and only commercially available fingerprinting system with an integrated IQS Appendix F certified full hand scanner, able to capture an image from the carpal crease to the fingertips in one continuous scan.
