iBIZ Software Partner with Thales

This partnership between Thales and iBIZ ensures that their joint customers achieve the highest levels of security and unprecedented value for money when deploying Access Control Servers in-house. As a new protocol for handling Internet transactions, 3-D Secure helps make the Internet a secure place to trade while also reducing charge-backs and increasing card usage. Within this new architecture, also branded Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and J/Secure, issuers now bear the responsibility of authenticating their cardholders. In parallel with this shift in responsibility, the liability for online transactions also shifts to card issuers. This means that card issuers now control the crucial process of authenticating their customers, which in turn provides an excellent opportunity to reduce fraud as well as increase customer confidence in using their cards online. Online credit card transaction fraud is continuing to increase both in volume and variety of threats. As such the need to implement Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and J/Secure is becoming a critical requirement for card issuers to protect themselves and their customers against Internet fraud. To date, most of these implementations were made through outsourced services, at the expense of sharing vital customer data with third parties and implementing complicated key management schemes. The partnership between Thales and iBIZ allows financial institutions to efficiently and cost-effectively implement this protocol, making it possible for them to choose a more secure and manageable in-house implementation. The integration between the 3-D Security Module hardware solution from Thales and iBIZ Softwares CommerSafe products for 3-D Secure, has produced a powerful and fully integrated Access Control Server solution for Card Issuers. It ensures that all the CommerSafe Access Control Server (ACS) cryptographic keys that protect online credit card transactions can be protected by the highest levels of security. This is provided by the 3-D Security Module, which stores and protects the cryptographic keys within its high security, FIPS 140 level 4 certified tamper-resistant hardware envelope, providing key management, key backup and restore, access control to the resources and split control over master keys . Such high levels of physical and logical protection means that it is impossible to eavesdrop, abuse or hack the cryptographic keys. In addition, the integrated solution provides unparalleled compatibility with existing issuer data resources and applications like online banking and EMV authentication modules through the unique CommerSafe thinServer interface.
