Discover partners 50 merchant acquirers for PayPal processing

US-based payment company Discover Financial Services signed contracts with 50 merchant acquirers that will extend PayPal’s in-store acceptance to more than 2 million merchant outlets by the end of 2013.

Some merchant acquirers and processors have already committed to offering PayPal, including Vantiv, WorldPay, Global Payments, First American Payments, Heartland Payment Systems and TSYS. Other acquirers and processors continue to join on a regular basis.

PayPal and Discover have entered an agreement in April 2013. Discover Financial Services is a direct banking and payment services and offers home loans, private student loans, personal loans, online savings accounts, certificates of deposit and money market accounts through its direct banking business.
