Burger King Choose Verifone

Tuesday 27 July 2004 11:10 CET | News

Burger King is installing VeriFone Omni 3750 payment terminals in all company-owned BURGER KING restaurants across the United States.

The company is also supporting a program that offers the same solution to BURGER KING franchisees systemwide. Burger King Corporation selected Omni 3750 payment terminals following an extensive review designed to rapidly place electronic payment devices in the hands of franchisees at little or no installation costs. The systems have been rolled out to more than 2,000 company-owned and franchise restaurants in the past four months. The VeriFone terminals accommodate both dial-up and Internet-based communications, allowing franchisees to migrate to faster Internet transactions at their option. The Omni 3750 accommodates a wide range of value-added applications, including gift cards and stored value, which will provide BURGER KING franchisees with greater options to implement customer loyalty and promotional campaigns. One prevalent deciding factor in Burger King Corporations decision to deploy Omni 3750 terminals was the need to process transactions via both traditional dial-up and via Internet Protocol (IP). IP delivers four-second transaction speeds and supports always-on connectivity, eliminating the time-consuming dial-up process. The high-speed processing ability of VeriFone’s Omni 3750 is a huge advantage for merchants, particularly in the quick service restaurant industry, where fast and efficient customer service delivers more revenue. The Omni 3750, with its dual communications module, supports both dial-up and IP/Ethernet based transactions. IP/Ethernet-enabled point-of-sale solutions also provide infrastructure cost savings, reducing the need for additional phone lines and other related costs. Other factors that were important in Burger King Corporation’s decision to deploy VeriFone Omni 3750 terminals include: - The Omni 3750’s multi-application capabilities allow value added applications to be installed easily in the future - The terminal’s SoftPay software enables customized solutions to be built into the local environment - The terminal’s ease of integration with potential upgrades in the future, such as peripheral installations or drive-thru solutions.
