Barclaycard Merchant Services Selects Transaction Network Services

Barclaycard Merchant Services (Barclaycard) has re-contracted with Transaction Network Services (TNS), for the routing of all its Point of Sale electronic payment transactions, to May 2007.

The deal is expected to see TNS? private network transport approximately billions of electronic payment transactions from Barclaycard?s 155,000 PoS terminals from retailers sited all over the United Kingdom. Through this deal TNS will also continue to manage approximately 160 digital leased lines on behalf of many Blue Chip companies for direct connectivity to Barclaycard. TNS has operated as Barclaycard Merchant Services communications partner for five years already, providing a robust communications network and host connectivity consultancy, ensuring Barclaycard can handle its huge volume of transactions. Additionally, TNS has designed and implemented a variety of bespoke datacomms services to support Barclaycard innovations including ePDQ, ensuring that merchants can process electronic payments at varying points of sales such as an Internet checkout or via telephone.
