ATMOS drives new National Savings & Investments card product

ATMOS, a division of LINK, has delivered a full card issuing and management service in support of National Savings and Investments (NSandI) new Easy Access Savings Account.ATMOS is contracted to provide a Certified Service Bureau (CSB) solution to NSandI. The NSandI solution incorporates ATMOS new card management system (hot card management, processing orders for card / PIN production); transaction processing and authorisations via ATMOS Base24 software. The implementation will be completed in late January 2004 when the service goes live. Customers of NSandIs new card account will be able to access cash and balance enquiries through 47,000 LINK cash machines. In addition, LINKs network infrastructure - which connects LINK to Post Office systems as part of the Governments universal banking programme - will enable cardholders to use 38,000 Post Office counters to make cheque and cash deposits, check their balance and withdraw their cash, making a total of over 85,000 service points. The Easy Access Savings Account is being offered in place of NSandIs Ordinary Account, a passbook-based method of depositing and withdrawing cash.
