Currencycloud platform has announced it has partnered with Swiss-based Velanis AG to launch a new financial app, Swinto, that offers easy, accessible, and instant money transfers to people from Kosovo who are based in Switzerland.

The new money app is named Swinto and allows Kosovars to make free money transfers to their families at home, without being forced to pay high fees usually associated with other providers of the same services. At the same time, Swinto users can use the app to make retail and online purchases.

The instant money transfer app will leverage Currencycloud’s APIs to offer low-cost FX conversions, enabling customers to instantly convert money between different currencies, including CHF, EUR, GBP, and USD, anytime. Moreover, the partnership will allow Swinto to expand its client base and increase its currency offers in various regions from Western Europe and the Western Balkans, including Albania.

The money app was created to serve the underbanked customers in the financial system and allow customers to contribute to the formalisation of Kosovo’s economy. Swinto also aims to connect Kosovars living in different countries and allow them to make cross-border payments easily and secure.
