Flipkart launches PayZippy payment gateway for Indian merchants

India-based e-commerce website Flipkart Payment Gateway Services (FPGS) has launched PayZippy, an online payment gateway, exclusively for Indian merchants.

The service will allow merchants to accept card payments. The product is currently available to merchants and a product for the users is expected soon. Users will be able to save their card information with PayZippy and then use the PayZippy service to make payments on the websites that have integrated the gateway.

The service will accept credit and debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Maestro) and Flipkarts currently working on enabling Net Banking, AmEx, Diners and EMI options into their service. The service also supports international payments.

PayZippy uses encryption technology to save card information. In order to create an account, users need an email ID or mobile number.

Flipkart is an Amazon-like e-commerce website which offers books, electronics, mobile phones, games and software. In 2012, the company has received Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 2.0 certification.
