Dwolla enables payments via LinkedIn

Friday 16 September 2011 00:51 CET | News

US-based online, mobile and social payments platform provider Dwolla has integrated LinkedIn into its network, thus enabling LinkedIn users to send and receive funds via the social network.

A Dwolla user who wants to pay a friend or family member via text enters the recipient’s mobile phone number at Dwolla.com or selects a mobile phone contact in Dwolla’s mobile iOS app. This triggers a text message to the recipient. The recipient then follows the instructions in the text to accept the payment and initiate the transfer of funds into his or her Dwolla account.

Dwolla users can also send money to any person or business via Dwolla ID, Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, SMS or by selecting the recipient from a list of people and businesses nearby via Dwolla’s proximity payments tool, Proxi.

In recent news, Dwolla has announced that it is processing USD 1 million in transactions daily.
