CardinalCommerce inks deal with Planet Payment

Wednesday 6 June 2012 10:00 CET | News

US alternative payments services provider CardinalCommerce has inked a contract with Planet Payment, a US-based multi-currency payment and data processor.

As part of the agreement, CardinalCommerce will integrate its 3-D Secure service, Cardinal Centinel, with Planet Payments iPAY multi-currency e-commerce gateway. As a result, Planet Payment customers will now gain access to fraud protection services and 3-D Secure programs.

Cardinal Centinel allows online and mobile merchants to reduce fraudulent chargebacks, manual reviews and interchange rates. Online customers have to enter a PIN code at checkout, which is verified by the bank that issued the credit card. The 3-D Secure program is supported by Visa and MasterCard under the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode-branded authentication initiatives.

Planet Payment enables processors, acquiring banks and their merchants in more than 15 countries to accept, process and reconcile credit card transactions in multiple currencies, allowing cardholders to view prices and settle transactions in their native currency. Planet Payment also has offices in Atlanta, Beijing, Bermuda, Delaware, Dubai, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.
