Mashreq Bank deploys security suite for corporate online banking portal

United Arab Emirates-based financial services provider Mashreq Bank has teamed up with IT security services company Bulwark Technologies to deploy a two-factor authentication suite for its corporate online banking portal, online news portal albawaba.com reports.

Bulwark Technologies acts as regional distributor for CRYPTOCard, an authentication provider for remote access and web-based processes.

Under the terms of the partnership, Mashreq Bank has implemented CRYPTOCard’s CRYPTO-Shield 2 FA solution. CRYPTO-Shield enables organizations to positively identify individuals through strong passwords before giving them access to applications, data and networks. The CRYPTO-Shield authentication service that consists of a suite of applications designed for implementing and operating strong passwords using two-factor authentication for password validation. CRYPTO-Shield, a strong password validation solution, provides secure remote access, domain and desktop logon or web portal access with two-factor authentication.

Under the CRYPTO-Shield 2FA system, customers are assigned a hardware token, which has a unique ID and barcode. The token is pre-programmed by the bank with access rights and limitations for each individual customer.
