YOUNIQX Identity is a subsidiary of the Austrian State Printing House (OeSD, the entity responsible for producing the Austrian passport. The partnership has secured a contract for the new e-ID system for Liechtenstein as the country decided to move away from a smartcard and username/password based eID solution towards one focused on the smartphone experience.
YOUNIQX has won the contract for its adapted MIA (My Identity App) system, built to work with FIDO standards from the beginning and with features and functionality provided by the Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite (Nok Nok S3 Suite).
The new eID system will be implemented for the country of Liechtenstein from the European Trust Services (ETS) as a subsidiary of the Austrian State Printing House. The new solution is developed based on the eIDAS regulation, because as an European Economic Area (EEA) member state, Liechtenstein follows the Consultation Report on the adoption of the European eIDAS (electronic identification) regulation.
