Western Union to launch new financial platform for NGOs

Western Union Company is set to design and launch a financial platform for non-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the people they serve.

The platform dubbed Western Union NGO Global Pay is set to combine business-to-business payment products offered by Western Union business solutions with the infrastructure of the Western Union agent network. Specifically, it will leverage the company’s physical locations to help connect NGOs to the people they serve in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.

Western Union NGO Global Pay is set to launch with select NGO partners in November 2012 with further extension planned for 2013.

In recent news, Western Union has entered an agreement with financial services company Triton Management Group, to provide Western Union money transfer and money order services, as well as Western Union reloadable cards across Always Money branded locations.
