Vcommerce Corporation announced that Napster, the biggest brand in digital music, selected Vcommerce to power its recently-launched e-commerce initiative for the United States and the United Kingdom. Through Shop Napster, the company offers MP3 players and other items in conjunction with its award-winning digital music service. The relationship enables Napster to focus on its core music business, while using Vcommerce to cost-effectively manage online sales of Napster-branded items, personal-audio products, gift cards and accessories. In less than 12 weeks, Vcommerce delivered a complete international e-commerce site and drop-ship fulfillment system for Shop Napster. As a part of this solution, Napster and Vcommerce have deployed an integrated fulfillment solution for bundled offerings of Napsters subscription service and leading MP3 players. The sites can be accessed from within www.Napster.com and www.Napster.co.uk through the Shop Napster link as well as at shop.napster.com and shop.napster.co.uk. The initiative is powered by Vcommerces VantageCommerce solution, which includes such technology and services as merchandising, site design, order processing, customer service, drop-ship fulfillment and returns management. Napster will use Vcommerces Web-based merchandising tool to implement on-going merchandising of the store, including special offers, discounts, and rebates. The integrated fulfillment solution uses EDI feeds to connect Napsters in-house systems with Vcommerces pre-integrated supplier network as well as Napsters existing third party warehousing partners in the US and UK. In addition to Visa, MasterCard and American Express, the solution supports a wide range of payment options including UK-specific currency and debit cards that make it simple for customers to purchase.
