US: TrustDefender, InfoSight partner to offer online transaction security services

Online security services provider TrustDefender has signed an agreement with InfoSight, a US-based IT security and compliance consultancy company.

Under the terms of the deal, the two companies will cooperate to provide customers with the ability to protect their online identities and transactions utilising TrustDefender’s transaction security services. The TrustDefender application omprises several security layers, including a memory forensics engine. The application has been designed to complement other security technologies such as antivirus engines or authentication systems.

According to the data released by the Internet Crime Complaint Centre (IC3), annual cybercrime reports increased 22 percent in 2009 as compared to 2008 and were up 63 percent in 2009 versus 2007. The IC3 has also revealed that businesses lost USD 559.7 million due to cybercrime in 2009, up from USD 264.6 million in 2008.
