TietoEnator to expand its operations in India

Finnish Swedish IT services company TietoEnator reports it is to focus its outsourcing efforts on India, investing in the expansion of its global delivery model and aiming to increase the number of centres of excellence and employees in the country.

On the whole, at the end of September 2008 the number of TietoEnator employees in offshore locations represented 23 percent of the total number of employees, with the company aiming to expand it to 40 percent. TietoEnator’s Q3 2008 report also mentioned that the company’s operations in both India and China had experienced rapid expansion, with personnel in these countries doubling.

TietoEnator first began its operations in India in 2005 with the acquisition of an IT healthcare systems development company, and is currently planning to expand its number of Indian employees with a view to lower costs and increase deliver an EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) of over 10 percent.
