T-Mobile customers making mobile-to-mobile and mobile-to-PSTN calls will soon benefit from a removal of echo and adjustment of speech levels within the German network, resulting in improved call quality. Research by ITU-T and ETSI has identified a relationship between the reduction of echo levels and the likelihood that length of calls will be extended, leading to revenue increases for carriers. Hence the improvements achieved with the Tellabs 3100 Voice- Quality Enhancement system can positively impact customer satisfaction and subsequently the operators bottom line. The contract between T-Mobile and Tellabs became effective on October 1st, 2003, and upgrading is currently taking place. According to the contract it will also be considering rolling out the Tellabs VQE system into other T- Mobile operations throughout Europe. The Tellabs 3100 VQE system is a high-density platform that helps improve network efficiency, installation time and reduces operating costs. It is part of the Tellabs voice-quality enhancement series, which helps more than 300 customers around the world to deliver superior voice quality in long-distance, wireless and private networks. With the largest installed base of echo cancellation circuits worldwide and over 25 years experience, the Tellabs VQE series eliminate echo, automatically adjust audio levels and reduce background noise. In addition, the Tellabs VQE series reduce network operating costs and increase network efficiency and performance.
