Visa’s PABP requirements are issued on a yearly basis and are derived from the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). These requirements aim to ensure an ever-increasing level of security for aspects such as card holder data protection, password security, sensitive traffic encryption and wireless transmission protection. Trustwave will thus validate Sand’s PS 100, PS 300 and PS 400 series payment terminals, which fulfill specialized functions which vary in complexity from basic dial-up to more complex network integration via a high-speed Internet connection. Sand is thus signaling its commitment for up-to-date cardholder data protection to its business customers, at a moment when the vulnerability of such sensitive information is a growing worldwide concern.
