S2 Systems to Support Diebolds Opteva Bulk Note Acceptor

Thursday 29 April 2004 00:09 CET | News

S2 Systems OpeN/2 now supports Diebolds Opteva bulk note acceptor module, enabling OpeN/2 customers to cost-effectively migrate deposit transactions from the teller line to advanced-function automated teller machines (ATMs) that offer envelope-free cash depositing.S2 Systems OpeN/2 platform provides the infrastructure framework for enterprise payments to help transform the customers multi-channel experience by leveraging the next generation of self-service technologies. The newest generation of bundled cash deposit technology from Diebold will accept a loose stack of up to 100 notes, then validate and denominate the notes for immediate deposit credit, integrating a refined technology into the traditional ATM and initiating a new era of "deposit automation." While the current market norm for ATMs is a four-cassette capacity, Opteva ATMs can scale up to five cassettes. The fifth cassette can either be used to distribute non-cash items -- such as tickets and vouchers -- or it can help maximize cash storage space, a useful feature for ATMs in remote locations. Earlier S2 Systems announced the completion of certification testing to enable S2s OpeN/2 payment solution to drive Diebolds Opteva advanced-function ATMs using Agilis 91x software. Acceptance testing was also extended to Diebolds proven Intelligent Depository Module that can improve the speed, accuracy and convenience of consumer check deposit transactions by migrating them to ATMs. S2 Systems OpeN/2 support for Diebolds bulk note acceptor is the latest example of how the two companies are helping organizations integrate multi-channel payment transactions into a single view.
