The NFC patent licensing program was launched in June 2012 by investment fund France Brevets and French contactless and NFC technology developer Inside Secure. France Brevets is set to provide device manufacturers with access to the Inside Secure NFC patents. The licensing program will address NFC device manufacturers who build products that support contactless payments, transit, access control, loyalty, ticketing and other services.
In recent news, Orange has entered an agreement with Dutch digital security company Gemalto to roll out the UpTeq NFC SIM cards in France.
