Oberthur Technologies, Sicap unveil mobile signature service platform

France-based global technology provider Oberthur Technologies and Europe-based provider of mobile software services Sicap have unveiled their mobile signature service platform dubbed Mobile Ink at the CARTES 2012 Exhibition & Conference which takes place in Paris between 6-8 November 2012.

This mobile signature service platform uses an applet developed by Oberthur Technologies in the mobile user’s SIM card which allows mobile users to connect through authentication to web applications to approve electronic transactions and sign electronic forms and documents using their mobile devices.

Sicap is a Europe-based provider of mobile software services including charging and rating, mobile payment, network services, device management and messaging. These solutions cover mobile, fixed and IMS network environments and are used by more than 120 customers, serving more than 835 million subscribers in 75 countries worldwide.

Oberthur Technologies was founded in 1984 as a technology provider. The company delivers systems development, smart cards services including payment cards, SIM cards, access cards, NFC and secure identity documents. The company also offers solutions such as the Smart PIN, where the customer receives his banking card PIN via SMS.

In recent news, Oberthur Technologies has completed the acquisition of Cupola Plastic Cards, a UAE-based smart card manufacturer and personalisation services provider.
