New Enhancements Position National City As Online Leader

New and coming soon enhancements include: Online Statements: Personal and small business online banking customers can now view up to 18 months of their checking, savings and combined statements within National Citys web site -- nationalcity.com -- in html or pdf format. Customers receive an e-mail alert when online statements are available and can view their online statements 2-3 days sooner than mailed statements. Online Check Images: Personal and small business online banking customers will also be able to view images of their cancelled checks in the very near future. By year-end, National City will also be one of the few banks in the country to offer both online statements (pdf and html options) and online check images. National City was also one of the first large financial institutions across the country to offer free online bill payment. Web Site redesign: National Citys web site, nationalcity.com, was recently redesigned to make it easier than ever for consumers to do business online. Improvements include: easier navigation, global log in capability, home page personalization and a global help section. Enhanced Online Banking Self Service: In addition to many existing self service capabilities, National City customers now have the online ability to request a stop payment on a check, change their mailing addresses and order a new Check Card. Over a third of customer self-service requests are related to these new capabilities. National City has received a number of recent honors for its highly successful web site and online banking capabilities. National City placed first in a study released by the research firm Change Sciences Group, Inc. on the ease of applying for a checking account at big-bank sites. National Citys credit card web site was named the second easiest to use by the same group. According to Gomez Inc., the research firm that evaluates online banking services, nationalcity.com is the only bank web site to be ranked in the Top 10 on each of the following Gomez scorecards: Banks, Credit Cards, Mortgage and SOHO/MicroBanker.
