National Australian Bank launches SMS banking

National Australian Bank (NAB) launches a new SMS banking service. NAB customers can now use SMS to request and receive an account balance, a mini statement, or transfer funds between their linked NAB accounts. NABs clients do not require a special phone model or software in order to gain access to the service. The SMS banking service is made available to customers after they complete an online registration.

The service can be used on any Australian telecommunications network, from anywhere in Australia where is mobile phone coverage as well as from over oversees using roaming. NAB’s new SMS banking service is protected by NAB’s security program called NAB Defence.NAB’s SMS banking service is offered for free to its clients untill November 2008.
