Jacek Kowalski Wins Visionary Award From Card Technology MagazineAZINE

INSIDE Contactless CEO and Founder Jacek Kowalski has been named the smart card industrys Visionary of the Year by Card Technology Magazine for his continued and qualified understanding and use of advanced card technology. The award was personally presented to Mr. Kowalski at the Card Technology’s Breakthrough Awards ceremony at CTST 2004 on April 27th in Washington, DC. Further to that award, INSIDE has been given the Innovation Breakthrough Award for its smartFilm. The award was given to Bernard Vian, Marketing Manager at INSIDE at the Award ceremony. Recognized by Card Technology Magazine to be the outstanding visionary in the industry in the past year, Jacek Kowalski always strongly believed that contactless technology was to become the prevalent smart card technology worldwide. Despite what some thought about the maturity of contactless, Jacek went ahead with the development of this technology establishing INSIDE Contactless in 1995. Today, this technology is being deployed worldwide by schools, governmental organizations, banking institutions, and major access control leaders. Indeed, during 2003, Jacek successfully launched Accesso, the first contactless USB desktop reader and HandIT 2G, the new Compact Flash module for PDAs; a new generation of couplers for proximity and long range applications. He placed his company 19th in Deloitte and Touches Fast50 ranking for Best Growth; won the Cartes Sesame Award for best application in IT Security with the SmartFilm, and landed contracts with the U.S. Navy, Dexit, and the Chinese Ministry of Education for the biggest RFID project in China, an E-Loyalty programme in Hong Kong. During this time, he also opened two INSIDE offices in China and North America. In turn, smartFilm wins its second award, the multi-layer security film integrating a contactless chip, a silk-screen printed antenna and security prints to secure ID documents had won the prestigious Sesame award at Cartes in November 2003.
