Enterprise secure web gateway service provider Finjan reports raising USD 22 million during an investment round initiated by independent investment firm HarbourVest Partners.

Among the participants were venture capital firm Benchmark Capital, startup and early ventures company Israel Seed Partners, high technology venture capital firm Benhamou Global Ventures and Internet networking equipment and management company Cisco. The proceeds are to be used for the development of Finjan’s web security suite, the expansion of the company’s sales and marketing infrastructure and the increase of its productivity and bandwidth control.

Finjan’s Secure Web Gateway provides companies with security and compliance tools by inspecting inbound and outbound web-based communication crimeware attacks and sensitive data loss.
