Ingenico wins contract to deploy end-to-end solution to Nigeria’s National Sports Lottery

Secure transaction and electronic payment services provider Ingenico has won a contract with Nigerias National Sports Lottery (NSL) to provide it with an end-to-end lottery service that comprises multi-function i8550 mobile GPRS terminals and the related software applications and services.

Up to 50,000 terminals will be delivered throughout 2008. Counting on a comprehensive library of applications, the multi-function i8550 terminals will be distributed by NSL to merchants and ambulant vendors who sell lottery tickets and a range of value-added services managed by NSL. It blends secure payment and value-added services for applications suited to specific markets.NSL chief executive Odunlami Kola-Daisi noted that this infrastructure is designed to provide the platform needed to accelerate the emergence of a cashless Nigerian economy. Philippe Lazare, the CEO of Ingenico also emphasizes that via this contract, the company intends to penetrate deeper into the worldwide lottery and mobile service market.
