India-based power services provider Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam (PVVNL) has provided residents of western Uttar Pradesh with the option to pay their electricity bills online, media outlet timesofindia.com reports.

According to the same source, some of the districts in Uttar Pradesh that have been provided with the new service include Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Moradabad and Saharanpur.

How it works

Indian consumers need to log on PVVNL’s website, select the online bill payment service and fill in their book number and connection number, which are set to show consumers’ transaction ID. However, a printed copy of the payment is expected to be available for those who prefer a printout of the slip, the same source has pointed out.

According to the source, the new service is expected to be available to urban, semi-urban and rural Indian consumers in western Uttar Pradesh.
