I-S-Cubed Delivers Worlds First Open, Multi-vendor Secure Key Management Syste

I-S-Cubed (iS3), will ship the worlds first open, multi-vendor secure key management system to a customer on May 28th, 2004. Partnering with Mosaic Software, and Diebold, I-S-Cubed will deliver SecureOMS ATMs to one of the nations largest credit unions. The 3DES-compliant system will be used to automatically update cryptographic keys on its fleets of ATMs, eliminating the need for the credit union to send teams of people to manually change them on each ATM individually. The system will also simplify and streamline security audits, producing a menu of reports and key management activity. Current 3DES and Unique Key Per Device (UKPD) mandates require financial institutions and operators of ATMs to support 3DES keys and also to load unique keys to each ATM terminal. This is currently a manual process that is inefficient, time-consuming, expensive and insecure. I-S-Cubed’s unique solution, SecureOMS ATMs, can dramatically reduce operating costs in most installations by replacing that manual process with secure remote key management from the host location. Announced in November 2003, I-S-Cubeds partnership with Mosaic was important not only for making sure SecureOMS seamlessly interfaced with its Postilion platform, but also resulted in a joint sale to this credit union. I-S-Cubed also worked with Diebold to utilize Diebold’s patented Remote Key Transport technology to ensure that the SecureOMS system supported Diebold machines.
