Family Dollar partners Western Union for GoCash money transfer services

Tuesday 27 July 2010 09:49 CET | News

Global money transfer services company Western Union and retail services provider Family Dollar have inked an agreement to make the Western Union GoCash service available across 6,500 Family Dollar store locations.

Under the terms of the contract, Western Union’s customers will be able to make both domestic and global money transfers, with values ranging from USD 50 to USD 200, while shopping at a participating Family Dollar location.

The GoCash money transfer can be purchased for both domestic and international money transfers and retrieved from any Western Union agent location around the world. Once purchased at a cash register, the sender will complete the transaction over the phone through a Western Union customer service representative and provide the recipient with the money transfer information.

In December 2009 Western Union has closed a deal with InComm, a marketer and distributor of stored-value gift and prepaid products, to offer its GoCash in-lane service to the latter’s clients.

Family Dollar operates more than 6,700 stores in 44 states across the US.
