Wednesday 8 September 2010 10:35 CET | News

European payment processor Equens has acquired all shares in montrada, a German card acquiring and network service provider which was wholly owned by Commerzbank.

With the new acquisition Equens aims to expand its card processing activities across the European cards market and reinforce its position as one of the largest card processors in Europe.
The transfer will be finalised in the near future, after which montrada will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Equens.

Equens provides payment and card processing services through its headquartes located in Germany, Italy, Finland and the Netherlands. The company processes nearly 9 billion payments and handles 3.2 billion ATM and POS transactions on a yearly basis.
