The Dress Barn has selected Fujitsu Transaction Solutions as its strategic partner for point-of-sale hardware systems and retail technology lifecycle services.

Fujitsu will supply more than 2,000 TeamPoS 2000 M terminals to replace Dress Barns older-generation POS systems. The companies also signed a five-year agreement covering a complete range of managed services. Dress Barn operates almost 800 stores in 45 states. Founded in 1962, the company is one of the nations leading womens specialty apparel retailers offering quality career and casual fashion to the working woman at value prices. Dress Barns Jaffe said that the Fujitsu systems will add new functionality across the chain, particularly for applications such as store marketing, merchandising and customer service. The latest model in Fujitsus TeamPoS line of point-of-sale terminals, the TeamPoS 2000 M is based on the Intel Pentium M processor. The TeamPoS 2000 M is designed for easy remote management to reduce total cost of ownership. The new terminals are expected to be rolled out to all 2,000 lanes in the Dress Barn chain over a two-month period starting in June. Services to be provided under the agreement include project management, integration, staging, installation and maintenance. Fujitsu will also maintain existing third-party hardware equipment.
