UK-based online identity verification service miiCard has revealed plans to expand across the US market as a response to increasing issues of online trust and the internets identity crisis as reported by the US Governments National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) initiative.

miiCards allows users to prove their online identity and is a federated identity verification service which centralizes the management and control of their online identity.

By using Yodlee’s personalized finance platform, miiCard is able to establish a consumers identity by linking their financial accounts with their online identity. The company also provides additional security measures, including email verification and two-factor authentication via text message.

Additionally, using the Yodlee platform, miiCard will allow financial services and e-commerce websites worldwide to offer online versions of products and services that have historically required offline identity checks. Also, miiCard can be made available as a Yodlee FinApp and can be distributed among Yodlees personalized finance platform and network of banking customers and partners.
