Clients with NCR and Diebold ATMs Now Able to Remotely Receive Encryption Keys

Monday 19 July 2004 13:03 CET | News

Metavante has securely delivered remote key distribution technology to financial institution clients using Triple DES-enabled ATMs supplied by NCR Corporation and Diebold, Incorporated.

Remote key distribution allows Metavante to securely generate encryption keys from its automated system, then send the encryption keys directly to the financial institutions ATM. Previously this process was manual and required multiple individuals, from Metavante and the requesting bank, to generate, deliver and install encryption keys to each individual ATM. Metavante is a leading provider of electronic funds transfer (EFT) and card solutions including debit, prepaid debit, and credit card account processing, card personalization, ACH processing, ATM driving and monitoring, gateway transaction processing, merchant processing, transportation payment solutions, healthcare identification card fulfillment, and flexible spending account processing. Metavante provides EFT and card services to over 1,600 financial institutions, transportation agencies, and health insurance companies in the United States.
