Citibank India launches web-enabled m-banking service

Citibank India has launched a web-enabled mobile banking service called Citi Mobile. Through Citi Mobile, customers with Java-enabled mobile phones can check their account balances, send money, issue drafts, pay bills, make credit card payments, register for services like e-statements, request chequebooks or block payments, among others.

In order to download the Citi Mobile application, customers are asked to send an SMS which includes the word MBANK followed by the last 4 digits of their Debit/Credit Card number to 52484. An SMS response will be delivered to the customers mobile phone indicating the URL for Citi Mobile. This URL can then be used to download Citi Mobile onto the user’s mobile phone.
